Offshore storage targets in the Gulf of Mexico contain highly-ductile rocks and pervasive faulting, the potential deformation behavior of these systems is a key uncertainty. SENSE proposal work on novel deformation monitoring technologies for such sites. As the US DOE pushes towards deployment of new commercial storage projects in the 2025 timeframe, technology and methods developed under SENSE could be available for new projects coming on line in US offshore regions.
